Başak Okay Tekir,

My design journey began at Yeditepe University, where I studied Industrial Design. During my final year, I moved away from car design, the reason I entered the programme, and found myself unsure of which path to follow. I gained practical experience in interior architecture and graphic design by working part-time at firms like Bun Design and Maker Events.

In 2009, I was accepted into the master’s programme at Glasgow School of Arts, where I focused on ‘design innovation’. After completing the programme, I returned to Istanbul and joined Planlux Lighting Design, where I worked for almost 10 years. During this time, I had the opportunity to integrate lighting design into various architectural structures. I worked on hotel, store, shopping mall, office, and gym projects, managing the design processes.

In 2018, after my maternity leave, I returned to work in 2021 and started offering design consultancy services. Together with a marketing expert friend, I began corporate identity work, and later, I started taking on graphic design projects on my own. Through my Instagram account @bo_konsept, I try to assist with design-related queries. Familiar with the "Do it yourself" concept, my spouse and I also carry out small-scale installation, application, and renovation work.

In addition, I am currently teaching Project courses at Haliç University, where I guide students through the design process and provide feedback on their projects.

Feel free to send me a message through the contact form for any design or application consultations.
